THE PIO IS NOT TO BE USED FOR OPEN RECORDS REQUESTS.The public information officer serves as the liaison between the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office and the media. The PIO also disseminates information on breaking news involving the Sheriff's Office.

Media inmate interview requests:
A wavier is required to interview an inmate. This form is provided by the media when requesting an interview.

If an individual is still in custody at the Wayne McCollum Detention Center, you can access the Inmate Search. If an individual is no longer in our custody, please submit an Open Records Request.
