Warrants
The Sheriff’s Warrants Division is primarily charged with searching out, detecting and apprehending persons wanted by written order of the Ellis County District and County Courts. The Warrants Division is also tasked with attempting arrest warrants within Ellis County from other agencies nationwide. The unit is currently staffed by two Deputies. Fugitive Transport
The Fugitive Transport Division consists of full-time and part-time Deputy Sheriffs who are assigned to transport fugitives from all over the United States. Fugitives who flee to other counties or states to avoid justice are transported back to the Ellis County Sheriff's Office by the Fugitive Transport Division. They are responsible for the safe and effective transportation of fugitives from other agencies. Contract companies are also used when cost-effective to transport fugitives. The Division is also responsible for transporting mental health consumers under court order to and from court.
